PM Bass (Phase Matching Bass): counters audio phase shifting by optimizing the phases of low- and mid-frequency sound waves, thereby improving mid-range clarity and enhancing bass response.
AccuEQ Room Calibration: proprietary to Onkyo, developed with together with Dolby Labs, is the new, improved calibration system over the previous ham-fisted approach of Audyssey. For higher accuracy, Onkyo’s AccuEQ can further tweaked and customized by professional audio calibrator to reach the most accurate EQ possible that no automatic calibration can even begin to reach.
CinemaFILTER: The tonal balance of a film soundtrack designed for a commercial theater will be harsh, edgy and bright when played back over audio equipment in your home. Onkyo have developed their own solution that restores the correct tonal balance of a movie soundtrack in the smaller environs of your home theater.
Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry: Conventional volume-attenuation methods involve initially dropping a signal close to the amplifier’s natural noise floor at low volumes. The signal can then become tainted with noise, which then subsequently gets amplified along with the signal. Onkyo’s Optimum Gain Volume Control Circuitry adjusts the gain so that less than half the typical amount of attenuation is necessary. The signal never comes close to the noise floor, and the result is noticeably clearer sound when compared to conventional amplifier designs. This approach uses the same logic used in world-class mixing studios around the world such as Abbey Road Studios, Skywalker Sound, and Dolby Labs.
Theatre Dimensional: Onkyo’s exclusive Theater-Dimensional circuitry takes the complexity out of conventional surround-sound setups and lets you experience the excitement of surround sound from as few as two ordinary speakers.
